Dr. Manfroy split time growing up in Europe, California, Indiana and Michigan. He graduated with honors from Michigan State University and subsequently attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. The American Heart Association awarded Dr. Manfroy a year-long research fellowship at the University of Michigan during medical school. During this year he published a scientific paper in a national sports medicine journal and presented his findings at national and international conferences. After graduation from Vanderbilt, Dr. Manfroy came to Cincinnati for his pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Manfroy is board-certified in pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Since the completion of residency, Dr. Manfroy has remained active at Cincinnati Children’s hospital. He spends time in the pediatric emergency room and teaches pediatrics to residents and medical students.
In 2004 Dr. Manfroy was awarded the Mead Johnson Community Teaching Award to the community physician who has demonstrated excellence in teaching to the pediatric residents. He also has served as contributing editor to Young and Healthy magazine and wrote the quarterly Ask Dr. Manfroy column. In addition, his work with obese patients has been noted by the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Dr. Manfroy chose pediatrics because he enjoys children's contagious optimism and resiliency. He also cherishes the relationships formed while caring for families over time. Dr. Manfroy spends most of his free time with his wife and three children being active outdoors and being involved with their many activities.
