When to Skip Walk-In Hours and Call 911 or Go to the ER

Walk-in visits are for urgent but non-life-threatening conditions.

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room if your child has:

  • Difficulty breathing or turning blue

  • Uncontrolled bleeding

  • Seizure or loss of consciousness

  • Severe head injury

  • Stiff neck with high fever and light sensitivity

  • Severe allergic reaction (swelling, trouble breathing)

  • Extreme lethargy or decreased responsiveness

  • Suspected poisoning or ingestion

  • Major trauma or possible broken bones

  • Blue, purple, or gray skin or lips

Do I need to call ahead before coming in?

No—walk-in visits do not require an appointment. Simply arrive during walk-in hours.

Are walk-in visits available to new patients?

Walk-in visits are available for established patients only. New patients should call to schedule their first visit.

How long is the wait?

Wait times vary based on patient volume. Arriving closer to 9:00 AM typically means a shorter wait.

Will I see my child's regular doctor?

You may not always see your child’s primary provider, but all of our clinicians follow the same high standards of care and have access to your child’s medical record.

Is a walk-in visit covered by my insurance?

Most insurance plans cover sick visits. Coverage may vary, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider. Visit our Billing & Insurance page for more information.

What if my child needs care outside of walk-in hours?

Please call our office. We offer scheduled sick visits and after-hours guidance to ensure your child gets the care they need.
